Redesign old steering-braking system
Ackerman steering for a three-wheeled gravity-powered vehicle in tadpole configuration (Reverse trike buggy)Â
Optimize for wheel alignment, driver safety, stability, hardware longevity, and vehicle speed
Primary skills: Vehicle design, waterjet, CAD, 3D printing, prototyping
Revised central pivot to eliminate back steering tie rod. Faced issues with tie rod-brake mating, causing inconsistent braking ability as well as problems with steerability due to load applied to the rod--spanned across the vehicle (buggy), compressed by the driver
Installed two tie rods on front end of spindles, eliminating back tie rod and freeing brakes. Iterated pivot geometry to preserve range of motion.
